Veteran Stole Ceremony Information
The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) awards a special camo-tipped stole to graduating SHSU Veterans and Service Members.
Date: May 02, 2024
Time: 6:00 pm
- Graduating students will arrive by 5:30 pm to allow enough time to check in.
- The ceremony begins at 6:00 pm.
Location: Lowman Student Center 230, 1717 Avenue J, Huntsville, TX 77340
Dress Code:
Business Professional or Business Casual.
Attendance:
Graduating students will be sent an invitation from the Event Coordinator to the SHSU student email address. Students will need to RSVP by the deadline on the invitation. You must attend the ceremony to receive a stole. Only students that have indicated they will participate in the graduation ceremony will be eligible to receive a stole.
You did not receive an invitation?
SHSU graduating veterans or service members who are not using benefits through the VRC department must provide a copy of their DD 214 Member 4 or current military ID or a copy of current orders to the VRC department no later than one week prior to participate in the ceremony.
Second degree from SHSU?
Students that receive multiple degrees from SHSU are only eligible to receive one stole. You are welcome to participate in the ceremony if this is your second, third, or etc. degree from SHSU, you will need to bring your original stole.
Family & Guests:
Family and guests are welcome to attend and support the event. At this time there is not a restriction on the number of attendees allowed per Veteran.
